Each team honored the longevity of the reputable league by wearing a commemorative patch. Throughout the season teams dressed in updated versions of their older style uniforms. The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed success in their time honored piece as they won the NFC East with a 12-4 record. The Cowboys battled it out with the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the 1993 NFC title game, this time falling short in a 38-28 loss. All time rushing leader Emmitt Smith enjoyed another Pro Bowl season as he gained 1,484 yards and scored 21 times for the Cowboys.
